The St. Paul Hockey Officials Association (SPHOA) has been around for more than 57 years as a non-profit organization serving high school conferences throughout the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area since 1962.

Of SPHOA’s 130-plus members, close to half of our members officiate NCAA men’s or women’s hockey in addition to regular high school schedules.  Several members have been selected to work the NCAA Regionals and the Frozen Four. Other members continue working at higher levels of USA youth hockey, including Jr’s.  Annually, we maintain a significant percentage of officials selected for the MSHSL State Tournaments.

SPHOA members further serve the athletic community in distinguished roles on the National Federation Ice Hockey Rules Committee, as the Head Rule Clinician (MSHSL), and the Director/Supervisor of Officials.

SPHOA maintains a long history of meeting the needs of high school and college hockey in Minnesota. With active recruitment and solid training processes, SPHOA is respected for setting the standard for Minnesota officials.
